Pressure gauge cocks are intended to isolate the pressure gauge from the pressure media in order to enable inspection or replacement of the gauge where the pressure is continuously pulsating. Gauge Cocks provide an economical way to shut off the flow of air to the pressure instrument, thereby allowing the instrument to be isolated from the pressure media or removed from service.
A syphon is a simple device used to protect a pressure sensor from high-temperature media, such as steam. It can also be used to reduce the potentially damaging effects of rapid pressure changes. These low-cost devices allow systems builders to use a pressure sensor with a much lower temperature range in high-temperature applications.
A pressure gauge snubber is a device used to suppress excess force or rapid movement in mechanical systems. Pressure snubbers are designed to dampen the effect of pressure pulses and spikes to assure longer service life and readability of pressure gauges in harsh applications.
Gauge savers are normally a device that prevents overpressuring. The Gauge Saver (Pressure Limit Valve) is used where the process pressure exceeds the over range limit of the pressure instrument. When the process pressure exceeds the preset pressure, Gauge Saver shuts off the pressure to the instrument and thereby prevents damage of the sensing element and protects the calibration.
Cooling Towers are designed to protect the pressure instrument from high process temperatures. For diaphragm seal without capillary, when the process temperature is high, a cooling tower can be installed between the diaphragm seal & pressure instrument, to reduce the temp. effect. This compact design uses cooling fins to disperse heat and cool the process temperature before it reaches the instrument.
The external chamber consists of an external chamber vessel that is mounted laterally to a vessel using at least 2 process connections (flange, thread or weld stub). Through this type of arrangement, the level in the external chamber corresponds to the level in the vessel. The level is measured by a measuring instrument inserted additionally in the external chamber.
Flushing ring is also known as calibration ring as it is used to apply known pressure & calibrate transmitter against known pressure. Flushing rings are designed to be sandwiched between the processes Flanges & the diaphragm seal in order to avoid the formation of deposited or blockage of the process. It is a wetted part.
